I believe in covering multiple bases when possible.
I recently took a look at travel domains; specifically by city. The format was cityname travel dot info.
Some of the results - for example TampaTravel.info, MunichTravel.info, and RenoTravel.info. In all cases the .com's and frequently the .net and .org extensions were taken. To me, the notion of a domain name citytravel.info is a good combination. When confronted with an idea like this I jumped in and took the plunge for a batch of similar domains.
I think it is a good idea to look at the case of multiple domains with similar ideas - like my recent registrations of gamesandpuzzles.info - capped off by puzzlesandgames.info.
The key here - for you to consider - is to jump in and act when you get a good idea. Follow up one strong domain with others if you think the combination of keywords will be a winner.
